Hello Dahlings!

Master Blender Lisa has been Blending Her ONE with His FIVE for 18 years.  With THREE Ex Spouses, THREE Step Parents and SIX kids we are living the Blended, Not Stirred dream.  Is that even a thing?

OUT OF LEMONADE!

Raylan and I went to the REAL Soccer Game on Wednesday night which meant a couple of kids (the two 17 years olds) were left to fend for themselves for dinner. Since Jax is months away from living on his own and Elle not to far behind him I wasn't all that worried that they would starve without us.

However, in recent weeks I've noticed that the closer Jax gets to leaving for College the more he is really enjoying the perks of being taken care of, especially when it comes to meals. He knows how to cook and if all else fails he knows how to throw a frozen dinner in the microwave, but he loves home cooked meals prepared for him even if it means waiting a few hours.

When we got home from the game on Wednesday around 10:30 p.m., he was quick to come upstairs to welcome us home and alert us that he was starving - he hadn't had a thing for dinner. We all had a chuckle and then he said "Oh by the way were out of Lemonade! And I sent you a text message." Only thing is that I left my phone at home. So I picked it up and sure enough there was the following text from Jax:

We are out of lemonade.

You are at the soccer game and your phone is at home but you should know we need more.

I am very deprived right now.

Thank you and good night.

Jax, Raylan and I laughed hysterically when I read this message aloud standing around in the kitchen. I'm falling down on my duties! I jokingly say back to him "To bad you don't have a car to go get some yourself?" And he responds "But it's so much nicer when you get it for me!" And the truth is I love getting it for him. Jax knows that independence is rapidly on its way and while he's excited about all the possibilities he's realized that there's a few perks to having your parents around!

I love taking care of all three of them! Sometimes I do wish for a little break,  but I know it's one of the things I will miss most when they are out on their own!

MAKE YOUR LAST GOODBYE COUNT!

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
